In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, we are conducting a voluntary recall of two lots of Project Watson eyelid wipes in the United States (UPC #: 310119022948, which includes lot numbers A09050 and A10055) due to consumer reports of a substance found in the product’s container after it had been opened and in use.
The health and safety of every person and dog who uses our products is our utmost priority.
When the recalled dog eyelid wipes are opened and in use, bacteria and fungi, which are organisms found widely in the environment, soil and water, can be introduced and grow inside the container, posing a risk of serious infection to people with weakened immune systems. Individuals with wounds may also be at higher risk of infection. People with healthy immune systems are not typically affected.
All eyelid wipes we distributed were found to be within specification. The manufacturing process for the product was also found to be within specification. No illness to consumers or pets were reported at the time of the recall announcement, and no other Bausch + Lomb or Project Watson products are affected.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled eyelid wipes and visit http://eyelidwiperecall.com/ to request a refund. Proof of ownership is required; please sign and date your used or unused product. Then take a picture of your product and upload it to http://eyelidwiperecall.com/ along with all other required information. The product should then be discarded.
